Tracking the actual sales? Our Black Friday & Cyber Monday 2026 tech deals live tracker has verified retailer dates and new deals as they drop, updated through Cyber Monday (Nov 30).
Short answer: For most tech, wait. Black Friday 2026 is Friday, November 27 and Cyber Monday is November 30. Adobe’s 2026 holiday forecast says discounts will peak during Cyber Week (Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday) at up to 30% off list price. Early November discounts are forecast to top out around 14%. Buy now only if you need the item now, if a price tracker shows it’s already at or near its historical low, or if it’s an essential you’d buy anyway. Once you’ve bought, keep an eye on the price, because some retailers will refund the difference if their own price drops.
This guide covers what the data says about discount timing by category, what to buy now and what to hold off on, and how to check a “deal” before you pay.
Key Dates for the 2026 Holiday Sales Season
- October 6–7: Amazon Prime Big Deal Days (already over). Adobe expected discounts that week to peak at 19% off list price.
- November 1: In 2025, the extended holiday return windows at Amazon and Best Buy started around this date (details below).
- Thanksgiving, November 26: Start of Cyber Week.
- Black Friday, November 27: Adobe forecasts this as the best day for TVs, toys, appliances, apparel and furniture.
- Cyber Monday, November 30: Adobe forecasts this as the best day for electronics and computers, and the biggest online shopping day of the season at a projected $15.1 billion.
What the Data Says About Holiday Discounts
Adobe Analytics tracks online prices at major U.S. retailers, and it publishes the most widely cited figures on holiday discounts. Two of its releases are useful here.
What happened in 2025
Adobe’s season recap covers November 1 to December 31, 2025. It reports these peak discounts off list price: electronics 30.9%, toys 29.6%, apparel 25.1%, TVs 24.3%, computers 23.4%, sporting goods 20.3%, appliances 20.2% and furniture 18.8%. Cyber Monday was again the biggest online shopping day, at $14.25 billion. Black Friday grew faster, rising 9.1% to $11.8 billion, which Adobe attributed to the fact that “consumers embraced earlier deals.”
What Adobe forecasts for 2026
Adobe’s 2026 forecast came out on September 28. It expects discounts “on par with the 2025 season,” with peaks of about 30% for electronics, 23% for TVs, 23% for computers and 18% for appliances. The forecast also explains why waiting usually pays off:
- Up to 14% off in early November
- Up to 21% just before Thanksgiving
- Up to 30% during Cyber Week
- Up to 10–15% through December
These are category-wide peaks, not a promise about any single product. Some items will beat them and plenty won’t. The pattern is still consistent: discounts on most tech get deeper through November and peak over Thanksgiving weekend.
Buy Now vs. Wait: Category-by-Category Comparison
The table combines Adobe’s figures with practical guidance. “Peak discount” means the category-wide high Adobe measured or forecast, not what you’ll see on a particular model.
| Category | Adobe 2025 peak discount (actual) | Adobe 2026 forecast peak | Forecast best day | Our call |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TVs | 24.3% | 23% | Black Friday (Nov 27) | Wait |
| Electronics (headphones, speakers, wearables, etc.) | 30.9% | 30% | Cyber Monday (Nov 30) | Wait, unless already at a tracked low |
| Computers (laptops, desktops, tablets) | 23.4% | 23% | Cyber Monday (Nov 30) | Wait |
| Appliances (incl. smart home appliances) | 20.2% | 18% | Black Friday (Nov 27) | Wait |
| Apple products | Not broken out | Not broken out | Black Friday weekend (historically) | Wait; compare third-party retailers with Apple’s own event |
| Storage (SSDs, memory cards) | Not broken out | Not broken out | Within Electronics/Computers | Buy now if at a tracked low; otherwise wait |

Category Guidance
TVs: wait for Black Friday
Adobe has picked Black Friday as the best day for TVs, and in 2025 discounts peaked at 24.3%. TV makers usually unveil new lineups early in the year, so fall sales are often when retailers clear out the current model year. Check the full model number before you buy. Some sale TVs are close cousins of a brand’s mainstream models, with different panels, ports or processors. Compare spec sheets, not just screen size and price.
Laptops and computers: wait for Cyber Monday
Adobe expects the deepest computer discounts on Cyber Monday. The same model-number caution applies. A “doorbuster” laptop can come with less RAM, slower storage or a dimmer screen than the configuration reviewers tested. Make sure the RAM, storage and processor match what you actually need.
Headphones and wearables: wait unless the price is already low
Electronics had the deepest category discount in 2025, at 30.9%. Popular earbuds and headphones are discounted often during the year, so a price tracker is especially useful here. If an item is already at its tracked low in early November, buying now is reasonable. Some retailers will refund the difference if their own price later drops (see below).
Example: Apple’s current flagship earbuds are the AirPods Pro 3. Apple says they remove up to twice as much unwanted noise as AirPods Pro 2, add heart-rate sensing for workouts, and last up to 8 hours per charge with noise cancellation on. Check current price.

Smart home: compare against the October Prime event
Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days ran October 6–7. If you tracked a smart speaker or camera then, that price is a useful benchmark for November. Retailers often run their own smart home devices at aggressive prices around big sales, but don’t assume November will beat October. Check the price history first.
Example: the Echo Dot Max, part of Amazon’s fall 2025 lineup built for Alexa+, runs on Amazon’s AZ3 chip. Amazon says it delivers nearly three times the bass of the previous generation. Check current price.
Apple: compare Apple’s own event with other retailers
Apple usually doesn’t cut its own prices for Black Friday. In 2025, it ran a four-day Shopping Event from November 28 to December 1 that gave an Apple gift card with eligible purchases instead. U.S. gift cards went up to $250, and several of the newest products were excluded. Third-party retailers often discount Apple gear with cash instead, which many buyers prefer. Compare the effective price both ways. Also note that in 2025, Amazon gave Apple-brand products a shorter holiday return deadline than most items.
Consoles and gaming: watch for bundles
Console discounts vary a lot from year to year and from platform to platform, and holiday promotions often take the form of bundles or gift cards rather than price cuts. Before you buy, add up what’s in the box (included games, extra controllers, subscription time) and compare it with buying the console alone. Adobe doesn’t publish a separate console discount figure, so treat any claimed “record low” skeptically until you’ve checked price history.
Storage: one of the safer early buys
Portable SSDs and memory cards are discounted often throughout the year. If a drive is already at a tracked low, you probably won’t lose much by buying early. As always, confirm with price history.
Example: Samsung’s T7 Shield is a rugged USB 3.2 Gen 2 portable SSD. Samsung lists sequential reads of up to 1,050 MB/s, writes of up to 1,000 MB/s, an IP65 dust and water rating, and drop resistance up to 3 meters. Check current price.

Price-Tracking Tools That Actually Help
Keepa
Keepa’s browser extension adds price history charts directly to Amazon product pages. It can alert you when a product drops below your target price or comes back in stock, and it tracks Lightning Deals. It works across Amazon’s U.S., UK, German, Japanese, French, Canadian, Italian, Spanish, Indian and Mexican stores. Some advanced data features require a paid subscription.
CamelCamelCamel (The Camelizer)
CamelCamelCamel is a simpler Amazon price-history site. Its Camelizer browser extension shows historical prices and lets you set up a price watch that emails you when the price drops. The extension supports Amazon’s U.S., Canadian, European and Australian stores.
How to read a price history chart
- Ignore “list price” claims. The useful comparison is the lowest price over the past few months, not the struck-through MSRP.
- Watch for pre-sale price bumps. If a price rose shortly before a “sale,” the discount may be smaller than it looks.
- Check the seller. Third-party marketplace prices can differ from the retailer’s own price and are often excluded from price guarantees.
Price Matching and Returns: What Changed
Price-match rules have narrowed in recent years, and several popular “tricks” no longer work. The summary below reflects each retailer’s most recently published terms. Holiday-specific terms for 2026 may not be posted yet, so confirm before you rely on them.
- Best Buy: In 2025, Best Buy’s Holiday Price Match Guarantee covered most products bought between October 31 and December 31. If Best Buy’s own price dropped, you could claim the difference through January 15. It did not cover matching competitors, and excluded items such as those with third-party contracts and non-returnable products.
- Target: Target stopped matching Amazon and Walmart prices in July 2025. It now matches only its own prices (Target.com, Target stores and Target Circle deals), and you can request a match at purchase or within 14 days after. Clearance, refurbished and pre-order items are excluded.
- Walmart: Walmart stores will match the price of an identical item on Walmart.com, subject to restrictions. Walmart doesn’t match competitors or third-party Marketplace sellers.
- Amazon: No price matching. In 2025, most items bought between November 1 and December 31 could be returned until January 31, 2026, while Apple-brand products had a January 15, 2026 deadline. If a big price drop comes and the item is still returnable, you can return it and buy again at the lower price. Check that it’s in stock first.
Pros and Cons of Buying Early
Pros
- Better stock and color choice before popular items sell out.
- Less rush and fewer shipping delays.
- Retailers’ own holiday price guarantees can cover later drops, where offered.
- Early November discounts are real, just usually smaller (Adobe forecasts up to 14%).
Cons
- Adobe’s data shows the deepest discounts land during Cyber Week, not before.
- Buying before a retailer’s holiday window starts can mean a standard (shorter) return period.
- Competitor price matching is mostly gone, so a lower price elsewhere won’t automatically help you.
A Simple Early Black Friday Game Plan
- Make a short list now with exact model numbers.
- Set price alerts in Keepa or CamelCamelCamel at the price you’d be happy paying.
- Hold off until November 1 for non-urgent purchases, if your retailer’s holiday return window starts then.
- Buy early only at a tracked low, and keep receipts in case your retailer offers a price adjustment.
- Shop the right day: Black Friday (Nov 27) for TVs and appliances; Cyber Monday (Nov 30) for laptops and electronics, per Adobe’s forecast.
FAQ
When is Black Friday 2026?
Black Friday is Friday, November 27, 2026, the day after Thanksgiving (November 26). Cyber Monday follows on November 30, 2026.
Are early Black Friday deals as good as Black Friday itself?
Usually not for the category as a whole. Adobe forecasts discounts of up to 14% in early November and up to 21% just before Thanksgiving, compared with up to 30% during Cyber Week. Individual products can still hit their lowest price early, which is why price tracking matters.
Is Black Friday or Cyber Monday better for tech?
Adobe’s 2026 forecast picks Cyber Monday for electronics and computers, and Black Friday for TVs and appliances. Plenty of deals run across the whole weekend, though.
Will Amazon refund me if the price drops after I buy?
Amazon doesn’t offer price matching or price protection. If the item is still within its return window (extended for holiday purchases in 2025), you can return it and repurchase it at the lower price.
Does Target still price match Amazon?
No. Target ended competitor price matching in July 2025. It now matches only its own lower prices within 14 days of purchase.
Which price tracker should I use?
Keepa has more detailed charts and alerts, and it covers more Amazon marketplaces. CamelCamelCamel is simpler and has free email price-drop alerts. Many shoppers install both.
